Winter Stream 2016: Myriad Colors Phantom World: Episode 13
The series draws to a predictable end with Haruhiko's Mother being easily forgiven this didn't bother me as much as others because it felt authentic to the characterization of Haruhiko. Other than family drama the battle between the team and Enigma is shot well and teamwork wins while the creature designs are nice. Ultimately though this is a series that is more style than sybstance and given that some watched this series because of the animation and visuals and not the story it wins on visuals but ultimately for me to find something compelling an emotion ro feeling some kind of character growth has to happen to make me care instead this feels like a plotless meander through a fantasy realm. I simply wish this had more plot development instead of focusing on the characters to the lack of world building. It's ultimately not a complete train wreck but is a series that's parts are better than its sum total. A pretty looking series that feels more style than substance.
